Revlon Haul (including Myer GWP!)

I’d had my eye on a few things from Revlon, and I generally like to wait until they have a good sale on or a worthwhile promotion before I hand over the money. As luck would have it, Myer has a great gift with purchase (GWP) on right now until Christmas Eve, and you get a choice of two metallic clutches filled with products when you spend over $39.95. I chose to pick up the new Colorstay Whipped foundation (150 Buff) as I’d read a few blog reviews and they seemed positive, and I threw in the Colorstay eyeshadow quad in Siren to bring the purchase up to the correct amount. I ended up spending around $60 AUD, which is not bad when you consider how much I got in the clutch as well.

I chose the blue clutch set as I like the look of the palette and gloss more than the items in the other pack, even though that bag is more attractive. Ever since the Colorstay quads were released I’d had my eye on them, but since I’ve indulged in the beauty that is high-end eyeshadows, I was afraid I would be disappointed with the pigmentation. I haven’t had too much of a play around with them, but since I received the Addictive neutral quad and am now the owner of 2 palettes, I will be sure to let you know how I get on. I was happy with initial instore swatches, so only time will tell. The Colorburst gloss in Orchid is a pretty purple toned pink filled with shimmer, and as a lover of most Revlon lip offerings, no doubt I will love this gloss and it will fall into my regular beauty line up for summer.

The clutch also holds a Colorstay nail enamel in 280 Blue Slate, a PhotoReady 3D Volume mascara in Blackest Black and a PhotoReady Perfecting Primer sample. The clutches contents are valued at over $99, and I think it is a pretty good deal if you are thinking of picking up something from Revlon anyway, or would like to get a Christmas gift from there and pick up a bonus for your efforts!

If you were telling someone about Revlon and they had never heard of them before, what would you recommend they try?

  1. I own a lot of Revlon nail polishes and they're good and affordable, that's what I would recommend. They have a nice color selection as well. xx

    1. @Coco I think I only have a handful of Revlon polishes, mainly for GWP's etc. I'll have to check out the nail polishes more closely next time I am at a counter :)

  4. I so wish that we still had Revlon over here in Finland.... the whole Revlon brand has stopped being sold here.. I honestly don´t know why.. Other brands have reached our stores instead but I LOVED Revlon and I miss it so much :(

    1. @anna That is sad that they pulled such a great brand out of Finland! It is super expensive in Australia but we are still lucky to have access to it. Perhaps ebay would be a winner for you, often I find Revlon items cheaper on there than Australian prices and buy them. x

  5. I really like the Colourstay foundation, it really does stay put on my combo skin, but sadly, if I wear it too often it makes my skin break out.
Revlon nail polishes are also fantastic.

    1. @thebeautyandlifestylehunter Good to hear that you like the formula, I've heard a few people say that prolonged use can break skin out but I sort of feel that way about a lot of 'long wear' type base products. I always make sure to double cleanse when I wear longwear options, and I'll take your advice and interchange foundations to be safe :)

Second person to recommend the polishes, where have I been all this time?!

      Thanks for commenting :)

  6. I was soooooo close to picking this gwp up for a christmas gift but I didn't really want any revlon stuff for myself haha. I already have the balm stains in the shades I like and the quads look great but I don't want one that badly haha

    1. @Jasmine I originally went in to buy a KK gift, but I was in a bit of a rush and nothing stood out for the ladies I was buying for, so I checked two things off my own list instead. The perils of gift buying I think! My Myer Revlon counter didn't have the balm stains out yet, but so far I have bought 6 (with one as gift) and am loving them like crazy. Have been wearing Adore every single day this week!

  7. I bought the last Revlon GWP bag a few months ago, and tried out one of the quads then. I was less then impressed, to put it nicely, so would love to know what you think.

    1. @Michaela I generally buy once a year and take advantage of the GWP's. I've heard that quite a few people aren't fans of the quads, but I figured that if they weren't pigmented enough for me I could gift them to my mum, as she doesn't like pigmented palettes. I'll let you know how I get on :)

  9. Wow great GWP if only I lived near a Myer! I adore the whipped cream foundation it's probably second favourite to my NARS. I would definitely recommend the colour stay foundations, the colour stay clear top coat and their lip butters :)

    1. @CrosswireDreamers It is a pretty good deal, I'm glad to hear that you like the foundation! I think I've tried a sample of the Colorstay for dry skin which I quite liked, I think I'll be buying it soon.

  11. Last year I bought so many Revlon GWPs - so I'm gonna have to pass on this one :p But it seems pretty good value for money considering how many full-sized products you get, and the useful clutch :)

    1. @sleepandwater Yeah I guess the more you buy the less you need to try from them. Always good to get freebies on things you were going to buy anyway :)

  12. Great buys! I'd def recommend their nail polishes, lipsticks (Black Cherry is my current fave), actually I love all their lip products, balm stains, lip butters. Revlon is probably one of my fave drugstore brands:)
