Now that Australia has turned the heat to high, I've been reaching for my hot weather essentials more than ever before. Pool parties and beach trips have been happening quite often for me, and these 4 products have really helped me stay fresh in the sweltering weather.
Invisible Zinc's Tinted Daywear in Light* is what I take with me for tropical holidays, and it is also perfect for a light base for any water based action. It warms up my face while protecting it with SPF 30+ and is a physical sunscreen, which I prefer. It does look quite greasy on, so the next product is a must...
Maybelline's Dream Matte powder in Cream is the best powder I've ever used, and I've gone through many pans over the years. It never cakes and provides a matte finish and a little bit of coverage, so it goes perfectly with the Invisible Zinc for daytime.
I'm a big fan of the Stila Convertible Colors, and this mini size is perfect for throwing in my bag and applying with my fingers. The colour I have on at the moment is Lillium, but I have quite a few of these cheek cremes in my stash. They add a touch of colour to my face without looking overdone for the pool or beach, which I love.
YSL Glossy Stains are one of my very favourite lip products, and I love how long wearing they are. You get the best of both worlds with them, as they have the depth of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss, plus they won't melt in your bag at the beach. I pack away my lipsticks during this time of year, in Melbourne it is just too hot to risk melting my favourite shades so I stick to crayons, liquid lipsticks or gloss.
So there you have it, my top 4 summer beauty essentials for trips to the beach or poolside jaunts. What are yours?

*marked product was provided, but I had a tube of it previously and have always loved it. Honesty, always.
ooh the YSL Glossy Stains <3
ReplyDeleteHi, I've been reading your Blog for awhile, but don't think I've commented before lol.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you get your Stila products from? I always like to test out colour cosmetics before I buy them, as I'm super pale & some colours just don't work on me! So I've never bought any Stila as I don't live near a retailer. Just curious if you go to Mecca or get stuff online?
I love my YSL glossies! They last pretty long on the lips & aren't as sticky as normal lip gloss. For me it's usually, my sunscreen, that misty spritz thingymajig and lip balm when I head out to the beach.
ReplyDeleteI live a loooong way from the beach and rarely use the pool, but either way, when it's super hot I prefer less makeup - these are perfect! x
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I love love Maybelline's Dream Matte Powder now that I've tried it. You've raved about it so much I just had to! So tempted to buy backups now because I'm an addict like that >_>
ReplyDeleteWa! I wanna try out Invisible Zinc but their products are so exxy. What's the difference between physical sunscreens and er.. those which are not? I have no idea what they're called..
ReplyDeleteApplying a powder and then going into the water.. would it cake?!?!
First of all... are you and your loved ones alright? Ive read about the horrible forest fires you have over there right now :/
ReplyDeleteSecond of all.. I don´t use foundation cause it makes me break out BUT when I did wear foundation I used to use the Maybelline Dream Matte powder and I LOVED it :)
I did buy BB cream yesterday so lets see what it does to my skin :)
Take care sweetie
hugs
xx
Love those YSL Glossy lip stains in #12 and #7 and the Stila convertible colour in Gerbera!
ReplyDeleteI always have to have my Shiseido SPF 35 Powder compact (it's refillable, winner), face sunscreen from them too, Senegence LashSense in black (waterproof, smudgeproof, butterfly kiss proof - mascara), and currently adoring the Korres lip butter in Jasmin.
Oh, and a horde of face and body mists!
I've been using Maybelline Dream Matte because of all the raves and like it so far!
ReplyDeleteMan, am I ever jealous of your summer beach weather.
I agree with you about the greasiness of the Invisible Zinc so I always use a finishing powder to set it - once that's done it looks great!
