Coming from a family who aren’t beauty crazed in the slightest, one must wonder how I became the way I am today. For the record, I’m blaming other beauty blogs for all the obsessions and temptations-good job, guys! My Mum, bless her, has a teensy makeup and skincare collection, the majority of which was bought by me or taken from my stash. She likes to wear a coloured liner once in a while, has just gotten hooked on blush, and uses an Avon lipliner as her tried and true lipcolour. Here is her stash!
This Savvy by DB blush was originally mine, but Ionce used it on Mum during a makeover and she laid claim to it. I can tell that beauty blogging has changed me, because my excitement at seeing her awesome pan hit was understood by nobody but me! I think this is her first blush, and I love the way it warms up her whole face. It kicks off quite a bit of powder but it is really cheap, and now that I know she will wear blush I can get her something a little pricier to use next time.
I bought Mum both of the essence palettes last year when she
bemoaned her lack of eyeshadows, and she loves that they aren't crazily
pigmented. It makes them easier to use for those who are new to applying
eyeshadow, but they are nice enough for beauty lovers to enjoy as well!
The Face of Australia Impact Curl mascara is one that I have
gotten my whole family onto, it really opens the eye up and holds a curl well.
The Aromatherapy Associates sample* is something Mum used while on the plane when
she went overseas with Dad earlier in the year, and she said she likes the texture.
Mum swears by the ultra-cheap Australian Lanolin Oil Night Cream, or indeed
most other variations from the $3 Big W range. Her skin is baby soft, so maybe
she knows something I don’t!?
What does your Mum keep in her beauty and skincare cabinet?
I’d love to see your thoughts in the comments below (Mum is terrified that
no-one will like the posts about her on my blog, so show her that isn’t true!)
your moms blush color is so cute and well loved!!! everytime i look in my moms make up bag everything has hit pan or looks beyond empty, i dont know how they do it...
ReplyDeleteMy mum swore by Nivea creme and not much else except for the occasional swipe of lippy and a bit of brow pencil. Tell your mum I'm impressed with the pan hit too!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love this! My mom wears makeup but isn't really into it the way that we are. She uses everything up before she buys new things! She is serious about her skincare, though, and is always good about that. I think most of my mother's high end stuff was gifted to her by me or by others at my insistence, lol!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute post! My mum sounds a bit like your mum, she's not into make-up a lot but likes to still look pretty on occasion haha.. (and swears by the cheap stuff..) :P

Cute! I have my mum and beauty blogs to blame for my makeup obsession! She always wore eyeshadows, a blusher and a lipstick of some sort when I was younger but I know that she has cut back on the blusher and uses mainly her eyeshadows, lipsticks and her eyeliner :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see that you've had a good influence on your mum!
Haha, this is so cute! I love the part about no one understanding your joy at her hitting pan. :D My sister hit ginormous pan on her Laura Mercier blush and I'm always staring at it in awe. Happy new year to you and your family! xo
ReplyDeleteNice stash....I wish I could keep mine more compact. You've inspired me to cut back and only buy what I truly love.

I really love this idea... I might have to steal it and showcase all of the things my mum has "borrowed" from me!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! My mom has a small amount too- and also mostly stuff I've bought or handed down:) yay to your mom for hitting pan!
