What need is there to come up with a reason to wax lyrical
about my recent blush loves? I don’t need much of a push to chatter on about my
favourite beauty product, so I’ve rounded up the five I’ve been wearing in
recent months to share with you all.
As I’ve mentioned previously, the bulk of my makeup stash
has been packed away and unpacking it has fallen by the wayside as we busy
ourselves with house renovations and setting up our first home together. The ‘lazy-day’
cheek shade that I’m sure you’ve all heard me rave about is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed,
which is a simply amazing rosy neutral that lasts all day and looks amazing on. If I feel like something a bit brighter that lasts all day, I turn to my Chanel Joues Contraste in Pink Explosion
or Frivole. My only two Chanel
JC’s, I have fallen in love with the formula this year and can’t wait
to pick up the new shade Accent
from the upcoming holiday collection. It’s meant to be a really pretty shimmery
neutral pink shade, and from the limited promo images out there I just know I’m
going to be picking it up when it launches in Australia. Okay, blush swoon
over, back to the point of the post! (Moral of that tangent? Go and buy a Chanel JC!)
The only cream blush I’ve been wearing lately is the newly
released Ice Bomb crème blush
from essence, the solo cheek shade
from the Me & My Ice Cream collection.
The gorgeous apricot shade blends like a dream, and though I’m upset that the
packaging of mine has cracked, I’m still really happy to have picked up this
bargain blush! The last and possibly most random blush shade I’ve been wearing is
the MAC Mineralize blush in Gentle,
a plummy pink shade with gold shimmer. I use a light hand with this as it has
the tendency to make me look a bit too
flushed, but the shimmery effect is really flattering on my cheeks.
What blushes have you been wearing lately? Any shades or
formulas I need to check out?

You have a lovely range of colours for your favourites! I've been using ELF Studio blush in Mellow Mauve heaps since last month. Really nice colour.

Thanks Kat! Mellow Mauve sounds really nice, I've heard some great things about the ELF brand but am yet to try them out - they are a great bargain brand aren't they?
DeleteAwesome faves Emma, I have been loving Tarte Exposed and Mac Blush baby, gorgeous rosy neutral blushes, effortless and easy to apply :) now am lemming for Chanel JC :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Saumya! Blush Baby is one I've always heard people love, I need to check it out! I am really happy that you are now lemming a JC, my blog is working mwu hahaha
DeleteYou have some beautiful blushes here Emma :) The Chanel looks heavenly! I am really wanting to try the new Essence collection but sadly the Essence displays in SA are woeful. Your Essence blush looks like the perfect peachy tone. The search continues. Take care!

Thanks lovely! I think essence need to work on stocking their displays regularly and releasing larger numbers of their products, it is so frustrating when you can't get your hands on something you want >< I hope they get their act together in SA soon! x
DeleteA cream blush from Essence?!! Oh I hope we get those here!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah Tracy- a really lovely one at that!
DeleteAll lovely! I'm into Bloom Sheer Colour Creams at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard that they are lovely Vita- do you know what is going on with Bloom at the moment?
DeleteI like the Napoleon Mosaic Blush in Flushed.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually tried those Mosaic blushes, I have the baked blush which is super pigmented but the mosaics look like they are a lot easier to work with :)
DeleteI love blush, i usually do this step last (before powder) and this is when the make up look really comes together for me. MAC Gentle looks lovely. Lately i've been loving MAC's Mighty Aphrodite from their wonder woman collection a couple of years ago! i rediscovered it and have been loving it! I have a post featuring it soon c:

Glad to hear you love blush too Chloe :) I usually apply at the end of my routine too, and totally agree that it ties a whole look in so easily. I am so sad to have passed on Mighty Aphrodite, so many people in the blogging world still talk about how good it is ><
DeleteI keep on hearing about Tarte and how fantastic their shades and products are - I think it's a sign I have to try them ;)
ReplyDeleteI found an Ere Perez cheek and lip stain kicking around my make-up bag, and I've been using this for blush and loving it! So it turns out I own 3 blushes really, not 2, ha!!
Sab they have just released an amazing 5 colour blush palette, and my lovely friend in Canada bought it to bring down here to me! So excited and can't wait to show it on the blog. 3 blushes, goodness my collection would scare you lol
