If you are a fellow beauty lover (and you must be, because
you are reading this!) you know that reading beauty blogs is a rather dangerous
pastime. Every time I flick through my
blog roll (right hand side of this page, check it out!) or my Feedly roll, at
least one new beauty product jumps onto my wishlist. I’m sure that it is not just me, right?!
When the captivating BeautyReductionista posted about an unexpected Chanel dupe that she received in a swap with an Australian (Making Up 4 My Age for those playing at home) I dived into the post with much excitement. I am yet to explore the realm of high end polishes, and though Dior will probably be the first to come home with me once I land a full time job I was interested in seeing what affordable Australian polish shared similarities with the big brand Chanel.
Natio Denim
is said to bear a striking resemblance to Chanel’s
Blue Boy, a long discontinued denim inspired blue crème polish, and for
$5.95 AUD is a wonderfully cheap way to treat yo self! The comparison swatches
are definitely worth a squiz before Natio
Denim hops off the shelf (I have a feeling it may be discontinued…) and
I quite like pretty but not pastel
shades of blue like this one.
Have you been tempted into buying a beauty product from a
single blog post?
How often do you succumb to little treasures like this
affordable polish?

What a gorgeous shade of blue!
ReplyDeleteIt is really lovely, and the dinky bottle is so cute too!
DeleteThat's a nice shade!! I recently picked up Air by Natio and it's a cute cool blue but applies strangely. And yes I do suss out... and buy things based on a single post!

Thanks Kat! I was looking at the recent pastel collection from Natio, is Air part of that launch? In what way does it apply strangely?
DeleteGood to hear that you are sometimes influenced by blog posts too :)
This is so on the wishlist! But I can't find it anywhere ... at least in my local PL that sells Natio and Natio polishes. I definitely remember that post where the dupe was uncovered and ever since I've been trying to make a mental note to find it where I stumble across a Natio counter haha :) I really like this blue - it's not too dark, not too pastel, not too bright, but not too dull. Just right.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating, I have a well stocked Natio display at my local Myer and found it there with ease. Hope to hear that you stumble across it soon :)
DeleteI love that shade.. Im not a huge lover of blue when it comes to nail polishes, Im very picky... but that one looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteThe bottle is darn adorable too :)
And yes, I know exactly what you mean when you say its dangerous to visit other beauty blogs... the wallet is not so happy then ;)
hugs

Anna I'll be honest and say that blue isn't my main weakness when it comes to nails, as I think it has to be the right shade to look nice. I do have quite a few blues though, so perhaps I love it more than I first thought ;P
DeleteI think that's quite a unique shade, I haven't found a blue like that! Nail polish is one thing I don't think I would ever be willing to pay so much for unless the shade is truly unique like some of those from DL! I usually buy cheaper polishes and considering OPI, Essie, China glaze are all about $15 USD here that's about my limit for polishes!
ReplyDeleteGuess what happened? I didn't realize it was a Chanel dupe until after Liz brought it to my attention and - yes! - I went back to buy a bottle for myself!
ReplyDeleteLol @ Vita :)
ReplyDeleteIt really is a lovely blue and pretty good quality too! I also like that the bottle is a finishable size. :D
Just look at what you started Liz!!
