More inspired by the dreary Melbourne weather I'm enjoying rather than the saucy trilogy penned by E.L. James, this look is full of soft grey tones and is a fresh winter look.
I applied my Bourjois Healthymix (nice and moisturising for dry winter skin!) with my Rae Morris Radiance* brush, and dusted a little Maybelline Dream Matte powder to tone down the dewy look of it.
As usual I used MAC Painterly paint pot as an eyeshadow base, then whipped out my deep grey Inglot shadow (matte 339) to use all over the lid, and used the matte vanilla shade (matte 351) to blend and highlight. I also popped a bit of MAC Nylon onto my inner corners. I used my L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in All Night Blue to line my upper and lower lashline, and I think it was a subtle touch that led to the cool-toned look. I finished the eyes off with my Australis Lash Length Extension mascara* and filled in my brows with my BYS brow pencil*.
The cheeks were kept glowy with MAC Full of Joy blush, which is a pale lavender toned pink blush that gives a gorgeous sheen to the face. The lips were given the once over with Face of Australia's Lychee Crush lipstick* (which I really like the look of in these photos!)
What is your winter makeup look?
Have you read 50 Shades of Grey? I've read the first two and my oh my the writing is woeful, but the storyline did grab my attention and I don't regret reading them. I'll get around to reading the third one one day.

The combination looks really smooth on your eyelids! My go-to gray shade is MAC's Copperplate. It has a little bit of brown in it, so I mostly use it for a quick smokey eye or my brows :) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous look!! I tried using that foundation and came out all cakey - very undesirable :( I've read the 50 Shades trilogy; loved the first two books, hated the third. Hope you have a great weekend! x
ReplyDeleteVery pretty fotd, I love your eyes!
ReplyDeleteI love grey for winter! I tend to go for bright colours in winter to make me feel better about the cold (although Sydney cold is not Melbourne cold!). I haven't read the Fifty Shades trilogy and I'm not sure I will. I'm reading George RR Martin at the moment and it's so well-written that I don't think I could follow it up with crap.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I've always wanted to try the Rae Morris Radiance brush! How do you find it? This is a very pretty and soft look, grey looks gorgeous on you :) I've read the whole trilogy and I thought they were addictive trash for the most part, but I have no regrets lol
ReplyDeleteYou're glowing in these pix! I've read the first couple of chapters of Fifty Shades of Grey but it's so badly written I couldn't be bothered with it. I've passed it on to a work colleague to read on her beach holiday in Thailand.
ReplyDeleteArgh! I just can't seem to get grey working for me, but on you OMG - so pretty!! And your scarf, so warm and snug :)
