The Sister Makeover feat. Burberry Rosewood

Though I am by no means a trained makeup artist, my family tend to rope me into applying their makeup anytime they have a special event to attend. Indeed, when we are all going to the same event I often spend more time on their face than my own and they end up looking extra amazing (but don't worry, I always take the credit for it!) My sister recently attended a wedding and came to me to pretty up her face - here is the result!
I can't take credit for her side-swept hair (hair stylist I most definitely am not!) but I used some slightly grey-toned neutrals to just subtly define her eyes - she didn't want to go too dark for the daytime ceremony! I didn't manage to capture a photo of her front on without a funny face involved, so here is a picture of the back of her hair which looked so amazing! The plait ran from the side of her head around the back and into the flipped section which was loosely curled, and though I may be biased she looked so good!
I normally use the warmer shades from the Urban Decay Naked Palette on her (as she is quite tanned) but I went for cooler toned shades from other brands this time to mix it up a little bit. I swept Burberry Rosewood over the lid and then defined the crease with Too Faced Garter Belt, before highlighting the brow bone with Too Faced In The Buff. I went heavy with the highlight in the inner corners with Sin, and the look was complete!
Do you have a go-to look when you attend a wedding?
Do you intensify your makeup before the reception, or go all out from before the ceremony?

    1. Thanks Tracy, I get suckered into doing all of their faces at least once a month ;) I am their makeup mule too, always shuffling products across to them. Glad you liked this look, she looked really pretty :)

  3. My family have started doing this also!! I have to say I'd rather have some more practice on various faces again before they ask however.
My go to look attending a wedding? Um, well I haven't been to one in a while so it's rather non existent.

    1. It's nice to be able to work on someone else's face, but I totally agree it can be really tricky!

  4. You did a great job on your sister! I would be thrilled to have a sis like you to go to for a wedding look :) I just wear my ordinary makeup for weddings, I'm not good enough to do a special look unfortunately.

    1. Thank you so much! They like not having to stress about doing their own face for special occasions lol.

  5. Great job - your sister is lucky to have you to do your makeup. I've been eyeing a Burberry eyeshadow for the longest time but it's just so pricey. Pale Barley is definitely up my alley but Rosewood is super pretty too :)

  6. Very ethereally pretty! I've never had the pleasure of making somebody else up - but then I don't know that I'd be that confident :p

    1. I was really nervous when I first began, but now that I know what suits them it is much easier :) I like pushing them outside of their comfort zones

  7. You guys look so similar based on that side shot of her face! Pretty ladies. <3 I do makeup for my sister too when she has events.

    1. We do look quite alike, though I'm a bit chunkier than she is atm since she's taken up Bikram and has been working out at the gym she owns with her hubs. She is very pretty (haha conceited and biased though I am!)
