The ever-popular Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick range has graced my lips a few times lately, and I thought I would take some pictures to show you all- it's what a blogger does, after all!
Sleek black packaging with tinges of blood-red in the colour tag and Kate's signature. I really like the packaging for these and feel that it's sturdy enough to throw around, but the tilted tops of Rimmel lipsticks drive me crazy in terms of storage. If I wanted to have the shade number facing up, it's such a pain to keep it steady!
I chose the shade 09, which is a berry toned red that I feel leans fuschia, and that is really pretty. In hindsight I wish I'd chosen the proper pink from the line, but I'm getting into red lips so it's probably good to have this in my collection.
I find this more comfortable to wear than some other 'long last' formulations, but having said that it is also smudgeable so you have to be careful not to get it all over your face before it dries down. I'm pretty haphazard in my makeup care during the day and often forget to check my face, so this isn't always the best choice from my red lipstick wardrobe. As an aside, how cool is the idea of a red lipstick wardrobe!?
I like wearing this with a simple sweep of champagne on my lids and loads of mascara. I find this a quick and easy look to do, which works for me. I've been wearing reds quite a bit lately and find that berry-ish toned ones like this suit me more than true reds might, so I'd love any recommendations in the comments below.

Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss retail for a teensy $11.95 and are available from Priceline, KMart, Target, pharmacies and anywhere else you usually find Rimmel.
*This product was purchased with my own moolah. Honesty, always.
I have a couple of these lipsticks but after a few hrs wear I thought they left that god awful 'lost lasting lippie' taste in my mouth, did you think that or did I make it up?
ReplyDelete@Lizzi they do get that 'lasting lippy' taste but I've had much, much worse, perhaps that is why I don't notice it very much? It weirds me out that it is so darn smudgy!
DeleteOooooooh I love the idea of a red lipstick wardrobe!! xx
ReplyDelete@Tegan I have a proper post coming up about it!
DeleteThis shade looks lovely on you! I can't wait to see what you look like with a true red though! Also, thanks for the red lip wardrobe idea, I put a pic of mine up on my latest post :)
ReplyDelete@Ahalya ah I just bought Russian Red lipglass so will be sure to post a pic of me wearing it, I'm a teensy bit nervous but have the bronzer at the ready! I love your MS themed posts :)
DeleteThat's a gorgeous red! Love the idea of a red lipstick wardrobe.
ReplyDelete@olgie Isn't it lovely? I think it is one of my more clever ideas ;P
DeleteYou look gorgeous! This shade definitely suits you! And yes-a red lipstick wardrobe is essential in my eyes!
ReplyDelete@Tracy thank you! I think it's definitely an essential :)
DeleteI love the idea of doing a red lipstick wardrobe post - although mine is surprisingly tiny in terms of what's on current rotation!
ReplyDelete@Vita I would love to see your red lipstick wardrobe!
DeleteGreat post, Emma. I've been hearing good things about the Kate Moss line for Rimmel, so good that you are happy with it too.
ReplyDeleteI really like the berry colour in this red. I have a very small red lipstick wardrobe, but I find that every time I purchase a red it is basically exactly the same colours as all my others (think, Ruby Woo), just a different formula/brand! I really want to branch out with my shades, and this is the perfect start!

So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis looks gorgeous, I have one Rimmel lipstick and it's one of my favourites. I don't know why I don't pick up more! I may have to look at the Kate Moss lipsticks more closely in the future.
