I'm never able to pass up on an essence collection, and when I stumbled upon the 50's Girls Reloaded collection in Priceline I couldn't resist picking up a few pieces. The liners were super cheap so even though I didn't need them I let them come along home with me. I chose the old gold shade Love Me Tender and the darkest blue I'm A Marine Girl. 02 I'm Sailing lipstick is a bright peachy shade (yet to try it out!) and the shadow duo stole my heart, I'm utterly in love.
03 Come on Board Captain contains a golden beige shade with a deep navy shade alongside it. Both colours are buttery and pigmented, comparable to my Inglot shadows. Considering that this duo was around the $6 mark, that is mighty impressive!
I created a nice work-appropriate look with the shadows and liners, normally I wear brighter makeup to work but slept in so this is what I came up with!
I've worn my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy almost every day in July, and for this look I topped it with my essence gloss in the newly released (but permanent) shade Deep Rose. It tones down the mauve colour of Boy but doesn't overpower it either.
A very sheer wash of the beige essence shade with the navy shade in the crease, blended right out. The shadows are really soft and easy to blend, I've been wearing the taupe all over the lid quite a bit this month but this photo doesn't do the colour justice. My lashes are also quite lackluster in this look, the Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous mascara flakes on me like crazy and doesn't create a nice definition for my lashes either.

Have you bought anything from the 50's Girls Reloaded collection?
How often do you use navy shades?
I'm so excited that Priceline has started to stock essence - fingers crossed that my local one has it. I'm going to go check it out this weekend so hopefully I come home with a full bag of goodies.
ReplyDeleteI have an eyeliner in navy that I seldom use which is silly because whenever I use it I find that my eyes look whiter and brighter. I'm going to use it tonight now that this post has inspired me.
Emma =)
@Emma I head to Target quite a bit to stock up on essence so it's good that I now have two places to find my favourites :) You should use navy liner more, something different to spice it up ;P I've been using brown lately as well, something different.
DeleteI love how they have a different line :) I picked up one of the eyeshadow duos
ReplyDelete@Sheri Their limited edition collections are some of their best products in my opinion :)

ReplyDelete@Celeste thank you so much! Aw you've made me blush.
DeleteLooks like some fun stuff in that collection! Beautiful look, very work approperiate!
ReplyDelete@thepeach Yeah it is definitely one of their fun collections. I would've preferred the look deeper but I know a lot of people can't wear it like that to work, so it ended up working for this look!
DeleteSuch a lovely look hun :)
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging of the eyeshadow duo :)
hugs
Gorgeous combination! I love the sailor theme of the packaging as well. It reminds me of MAC Hey Sailor.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Essence is in wider release these days - means their shelves are better stocked too. I love the lipstick/gloss combo on you. It's something I go for more these days, especially as we're getting closer to spring :)
ReplyDeleteOoh nice! I have to get my butt back into Target to check out this collection. I've neglected Essence of late.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! Love the sailor theme on the products!
