A Reductionista Gift

There is nothing better than arriving home after a stressful day to find a sweet parcel on your doorstep!
I recently won the 'End of Summer' competition over at Liz's blog, and I was ecstatic as I'd been lusting over the two Maybelline Color Tattoo shades since I first saw them on her blog! I snuggled up on the couch with Charlie to unwrap the goodies, and lo and behold the bag was bursting with lots of extra beauty treats for me! It's like Liz dived into my mind and said 'this is exactly what Emma would love!'
Even Mister Bovary was amazed by how these two shades look in the pot and in swatches - truly captivating and I can't wait to dip into them properly and see what sort of looks I can create. Sunwashed Sky is more cool toned and has amazing pigmentation, and Shimmering Sea flashes gold as you move and takes my breath away. I can't believe Maybelline didn't release this everywhere - crazy I tell ya!
A Canadian friend brought me over some Sonia Kashuk bits about a year ago but I hadn't tried any of their lipsticks, and this Sheer Fuchsia shade is totally up my alley and something I can get a lot of wear from. The Moonstone cream eyeshadow swatch literally stained my arm and was so hard to budge (it took me micellar water, oil based remover and a good go at my arm with a loofah before it was completely gone!) so I can only imagine how it will last on my lids! Last but not least is the St. Tropez face lotion (I need a bit of glow before I hit Hawaii!) and the gorgeous Annabelle Blush 48 - a wearable shade which is something I actually need in my overflowing collection of neutrals and megawatt brights!

Thank you so much to Liz for a great competition and some lovely extras - you really brought a smile to this beauty lovers face :)

I'm signing off now to go and have lunch and get my nails done, because tomorrow I am getting married!

Summer Essentials // Comvita's Natural Skincare

Blog reading is definitely up there on my lists of things I love to do. I love learning about new products, hearing a variety of opinions on things and admiring the creativity that some people possess. I’m also often motivated to get healthy and try new things by blogs I read, and so when I heard about a beauty company that promotes health and uses some hyped up ingredients I’d been looking into, my ears perked up.

Comvita is a brand that creates health products as well as beauty items, and I think that it is a brilliant thing. Now I can buy natural manuka honey and other health goodies, and do the cheeky ‘supermarket sneak’ and throw some beauty items into my cart at the same time! I was recently shown their new Summer Essentials pack (and you know I am mad for an essentials pack at Christmas time!) and I was impressed by the look of the products inside, and the value that is included. Instead of paying $160 for all of the products below, it is only $99. Those around me generally spend between $50 and $100 for gifts, so this falls into the perfect price range for quite a large and hefty gift.
Ignoring the fact that I steal honey from our pantry on a daily basis, my tummy rumbles at the thought of the top notch manuka goodness in this pack. Manuka features in straight up honey form, as well as within a moisturiser which also contains rosehip, macadamia, sunflower and soybean oils as well as everyones favourite shea butter.  A full list of all the goodies within the Comvita Summer Essentials pack is below.

Manuka Honey 10 UMF ($26.67 RRP )

Olive Leaf Extract ($35.23 RRP )

Whitening Toothpaste ($6.36 RRP )

Hydrating Toning Mist ($22.75 RRP )

Nourishing Lip Treatment ($12.35 RRP )

Daily Moisturiser with SPF ($35.75 RRP )

Daily Spa Body Wash ($18.85 RRP)
To purchase this top notch Summer Essentials pack for only $99 instead of $160, head here. If you would like a chance to WIN one of these great value packs, click here and enter your details. I have just entered and am dreaming of honey as we speak (imagine Winnie the Pooh, but with more blush on ;p)

Do you lean towards natural skincare?
Have you tried any great Manuka products lately?
I’ve been lusting over a few Manuka honey masks…

*This post is sponsored by the lovely folks at Comvita, and as always my opinions are honest. I have my fingers crossed the winner is an emmabovarybeauty reader!

POTICHE-Trophy Wife

I was lucky enough to win tickets to see the new French film 'Potiche' at the Kino on Collins, after entering a competition over at Mia Freedman's MamaMia. I took my best girlfriend Candice along with me, and we both thought it to be a great film! (Be warned, some slight plot spoilers follow)
Set in 1977 and directed by Francois Ozon, the film follows a 'trophy wife'(the stunning Catherine Deneuve) as she takes over her husbands factory when he falls ill (after being attacked by his workers) A despisable character, her husband (Fabrice Luchini) is angered by her success and happiness in her new role, and her ex-lover also makes an appearance to spice up the plot. Played by the ever-present Gerard Depardieu, his character is one of the most riveting in the film, as is the husband's mistress (Karin Viard) This film made me reflect on the gender roles that play in relationships, as well as how beautiful I find the French language.

I highly recommend this film, it is something I would watch over again and enjoy even more the second time around. Thanks to MamaMia for the free night out, was much appreciated!

Marc by Marc Jacobs!

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to win a competition on a wonderful blog that I follow, Coco and Vera.
The lovely Cee who runs this site has such great style, I've nabbed some pictures of her to show you just how gorgeous this girl is!
The prize was a gorgeous Marc by Marc Jacobs tote!
And here are some close-ups of the bag, and the lovely note Cee sent over with the parcel. It was written on thick cream card, in a beautiful thick envelope that had a burgundy print inside. Little touches like that make me smile, and proves that I am indeed a sucker for stationary.Felt very exciting to have a bag being sent over from Vancouver, just for me!
The tote was designed exclusively for Holt Renfrew in support of VisionSpring, "a non-profit organization that provides low-cost eyeglasses in the developing world." (As stated on the tag that was attached to said tote) Just wanted to say thank you to Cee for having such an inspiring sense of style, and for holding this great competition that I was lucky enough to win =)
Coco and Vera is great, I urge you all to check it out!
