My Priceline 50% Off Haul

I've been patiently waiting for the Priceline 50% haircare sale to roll around, and it is finally on! It ends at midnight tonight (Friday 13th of October) and began yesterday morning, so I popped in last night before I did my groceries to stock up. I quickly perused the makeup section before heading to the busiest aisles and was pleased to see Bourjois was half price during this promotion also, and took the opportunity to grab another new release colour from their Rouge Edition Velvet line, the bright orange-red '20 Poppy Days' ($12 AUD)

The main drawcard for me was my beloved Cedel Anti-Dandruff Medicated Shampoo - glamorous it is not, but it is the only shampoo I can use and is rarely discounted anywhere! I bought 5 bottles at $2.74 each for my stockpile (especially handy since I am now on maternity leave!) I grabbed two bottles of Batiste dry shampoo which I feel will be a new-Mum necessity (in the scents Eden and Sweetie, $4.99 ea for 200ml) and my favourite Dove Intensive Repair Treatment Mask ($3.99 for 200ml) I also picked up two conditioners I am yet to try, the Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness Conditioner with Mandarin Orange Fragrance ($2.74 for 300ml) and the newly released L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Conditioner ($2.97 for 250ml) How pretty is the L'Oreal packaging?!

My total haul came to $45.38 and I then used my $3.93 Quarterly Rewards to bring my cost to $41.45. I'm pleased with everything I grabbed and happy to have stocked up before baby girl's big arrival!

Top 3 Hair Products for Lazy Locks

In the lazy haircare department, I am pretty sure I take out first prize. I have a lot of thick hair, and even taking the time to blow dry it is asking a lot from me. Every once in a while I feel inspired and decide to roll with some product, but generally I am all about the easy to use and fuss free products that make lazy hair something I can step out of the house with. This is what I’m currently rolling with!

Dove Intensive Repair Hair Mask*

Well-conditioned ends are something I strive for and so far this is the best hair mask I’ve found that does the job without weighing it all down too much. I use it as I would a regular conditioner, except it is way better and even though it is in tub form I still find the packaging oddly alluring and sleek. I use this once or twice a week and even though I need a trim badly, it sorta hides that a little bit. I've almost used up this tub and will definitely be buying a new tub, stat!

Pantene Night Miracle Leave On Crème Serum

I’ve used this for years, and find that it lightly moisturises and tames my hair if it’s acting a bit rambunctious. Even though it specifies that it is for PM I use it in the morning more often than not, and think it smells really nice, too.

Girlz Only Dry Shampoo (Dawn 'Till Dusk, but I use any of the scents)

This is a staple in the Bovary household – I have thick and unruly hair that takes a heck of a long time to dry after washing, and sometimes laziness gets the better of me in that regard. I love how affordable this is ($2!) and that it comes in a variety of scents. It absorbs any oil in my roots and adds a nice puff of volume to my hair which is always a nice touch!

Lazy hair is a bit of an artform and my locks sure get in a tangle more than once a week. I love these products for taming back the crazy while still keeping a natural feel to my hair, and I’d love to hear your lazy hair recommendations in the comments below! I’ve just started using a luxe Kerastase hair serum which smells divine so I’ll keep you posted on that one.

Platinum Blitz Box from Hairhouse Warehouse // Unpacking and First Impressions

Now that I'm finally getting into taking care of my massive mane of hair, I was elated to see the annual Hairhouse Warehouse Platinum Blitz Box! Each time these boxes are released the ladies in my family go nuts for them, my sister in law in particular is addicted to them as she loves the chance to try new hair care for such a great value.

There are a few different choices with the Platinum Blitz Box, and they are easily identified by looking at the markings on the back of every box. If I could handpick a product to go in my box, I would definitely go for the RPR Make Me Shine spray, as it's a product I'd love to try and don't own anything like.

I received the Goldwell Color shampoo and conditioner, which I have gifted my sister as I am not colouring my hair right now and she colours hers regularly. The other option is the Goldwell Rich Repair set, which I assume is great for dry or damaged hair. I made a commitment to stick to my dedicated anti-dandruff shampoo so am not up for trying something new, but my sister is stoked to have these bad boys!

My Blitz Box came with RPR's Wax My Style, which Chris nabbed straight away to trial. He only does his hair when we go out on the weekends, so he hasn't had a chance to try it out just yet, but I'll get him to review it soon.

This Goldwell Extra Rich 60 Second Treatment is a fruity scented pink leave in treatment that is something I dived into when my Blitz Box arrived. I found it softened my hair, but will leave my full opinion for a proper review later on. I'm really happy to have this in my cabinet!

Also included is a travel crimper, which I am stoked to own! My niece's fight over the one crimper my family owns, and so I am elated to have a mini one of my own. I quite like the idea of crimping the lower layers of my hair to add volume, and some of the new runway looks see the bottom of the hair crimped into crazy town, and I'm looking forward to giving that a go! The comb is also something I am happy to have, it means I can evenly distribute my hair products and not have to brush my wet hair and damage it.

If you regularly get your hair done at Hairhouse Warehouse, this box is immediately worth it with the inclusion of this $20 salon voucher. It's valid for services over $100 and until the end of November. I'm tempted to go in and get some colour treatments to get the dark out of my ends, but we will see how we go!

 

The Platinum Blitz Box is awesome value, and though not all of the products are suited to my hair type I am pleased with the contents and would happily shell out $30 smackeroos for all of this loot.
