I love the idea of sample boxes, but am often left
disappointed with the lacklustre contents and unused products that fill my
drawers even though I’ve long cancelled any subscriptions. I was elated to see
that Adore Beauty have once again brought out some sampler packs,
letting customers know exactly what they are getting before they order! All of the
products are high quality and decently (cutely!) sized, and I was kindly sent
the Skincare/Makeup option as opposed to the Skincare/Haircare
option.
Before I hop onto my mini-loving bandwagon, let me mention
the other products that fill this lovely sampler bag. The St.Tropez
Illuminator is pretty darn cool, I had thought ‘ooh nice brand’ and thought
no more of it, but when I swatched it I saw that it is fill of iridescent blue shimmers that have blown my mind.
Can’t wait to play around with this and see how I can make it work for me. The Philosophy
Purity cleanser is a nice size to get a feel for the brand; I actually have
another of the same size in my stash so thumbs up for two travel friendly
cleansers to trial!
I
was also happy to see a nice Rose Balm from Lanolips included, I’ve
had lots of experience with their lovely lip products but am yet to try this
rose scented tube. Another product I haven’t had much experience with
(technically) is the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer (not to prime is
a crime, as Mister Christopher loves quoting when I apply my makeup!) I have
heard that this is the same formula as my beloved Face of Australia Face
Base primer, so thumbs up already if that is true.

The squeeing continues with the mini Benefit They’re Real,
which is adorable compared to the regular sized mascara. I have had the normal
tube for so long, sitting unopened in my mascara drawer waiting for the right
moment to crack it open. I am a big fan of travel sized mascaras as I find they
last a long time without taking up too much space in the makeup bag, so I am
going to make an effort to try this highly lauded mascara soon. I have also had
TheBalm Hot Mama in my stash for a while and think I might like it more
than the famed Nars Orgasm, so when I saw this little baby pan I was
thrown into a world of cute! I think it might take a bit of work with a smaller
than usual sized blush brush, but seriously, I think I might just keep it out
on my desk to make me smile.

DeleteHmm...this looks like a great subscription box. It mostly contains great products that are worth trying out. Some beauty boxes are that worth it because it contains not so good products and small samplers which you will not see the effects of it.
ReplyDelete@Alice I agree, sometimes samples are too small to judge whether or not they are worth buying, so it is great to see decent sized products/useful mini's coming out :)
DeleteI think these are fantastic just because you get to see all the products you receive so you can make a judgement on whether it's worth it to you personally. I think it's fantastic that Adored Beauty have came out with these... I just wish I wasn't broke haha.

@Sarah I love that there aren't any secrets about what you get, so you know whether or not you'd like to cough up the cash :) I feel you on the broke point, uni and placement are draining any work shifts!

ReplyDelete@Sarah It is so tempting isn't it? I have a few MyerOne vouchers I've been saving but nothing is calling out to me so strongly yet, make sure you use your Myer card if you buy They're Real!

DeleteThat little theBalm blush is definitely adorable! I haven't tried their blushes before but I'm sure I'd be a fan if I did. Love the tiny Bioderma too, perfect for travelling (though not for long trips LOL) :)
ReplyDelete@sleepandwater It is so teensy I couldn't quite believe it, definitely one of the cutest blushes in my collection now. I have two TheBalm blushes and they are really nice, haven't used them extensively though so I'll have to use them more and review them soon.
DeleteOooh, I'm so tempted by this sampler! Esp after your review! Quick question, is the Bioderma bottle a screw on lid? Is is just an open top or does it have some sort of dispenser like the traditional Bioderma bottles with little holes? (Hoping I make sense)
ReplyDelete@Celina It is a plain open top that you screw open, so not a nice dispenser like the regular size but still useful. You totally made sense, but did my response? haha
DeleteGotta say the mini Bioderma and the Balm blush are my favourites from this set! It's definitely something I thought of buying but just couldn't justify it right now as I don't need anything in the collection as yet.

DeleteI don't believe in paying for sample sizes unless they're at least travel sized, but this is one of the best boxes I've ever seen and I'm really critical of these subscriptions! Every single item is quality product/brand and that's really rare. And not a single sample sachet or granola bar to be seen, hahaha!
ReplyDelete@Liz I tend to agree, unless they are decent and useful like these. Quite a feat for some boxes, who really miss the mark with that aspect. Adore Beauty come out with some amazing samplers (I've used their scent one as well) and all orders come with a free treat (though not a granola bar! This time I got a Tim Tam- have you ever tried one?)
DeleteLove that they actually tell you beforehand what you're purchasing. The mini sample sizes are super cute and handy for when you're travelling, and they're not some crappy brands either. Loving the look of that mini blush and the mini mascara.
