Current Favourites - Mid April '14

The last few months have been a little trying for me, with work being filled with drama and wedding planning shoving my brain into overdrive. I did manage to find a few nights to sort through some of my beauty room, and Mister Bovary kindly built me some new drawers to store a portion of my makeup collection. It has made it much simpler to chop and change looks, and narrowing down my current favourite products was definitely an easy task this time around.
Despite my skin becoming less than covetable of late (perhaps attributed to new skincare trials and some lazy nights...) I've been enjoying the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water with gusto. Very similar to Bioderma Crealine H20 but at a much lower price point, the spendthrift in me rejoices at this release! Another skincare gem I adore is the Garnier Moisture Match moisturiser, of which I use the blue variant which targets normal to dry skin.
I've added another blush pan into the 'consistently reaching for' category to sit alongside Tarte Exposed...Hourglass Radiant Magenta really doesn't apply anything like it looks in the pan, but gives me a natural pink flush that makes me think of airbrushing each time I apply it. Another luxe cosmetic love of mine is the new Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Cheri, the purchase of which I blame on Tiffany from Will Work for Makeup. A full post is upcoming for this stunner, such is my love for the shade and formulation!
A press sample love of mine is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves mascara*, which I have already influenced a few of my friends to purchase. The formula is a little bit more wet than I generally like in a mascara, but it really stretches out my lashes and gives them noticeable length and curve which I appreciate. Last but not least for my current favourites is MAC Club eyeshadow, which has shown itself to be a real workhorse for me in the last little while. I have been wearing this sheered out for work, and then packing a few more layers on to turn it into a smoky eye of a night time.

What are your current favourites? Any new blushes I need to try? ;)

    1. A friend of mine has used the one for oily skin and she didn't love it, but this is probably one of the best moisturisers I've used in a long time. So happy that it is affordable, leaves me more money for blush ;P

    1. Garnier really are, I love the price points so much! So glad to hear you love the green variant, my friend isn't a fan but her moisturiser tendencies are the complete opposite of mine (if she loves it, I hate it!)

  8. Hmm...I think my current favourites have surprised me honestly. Skincare: Brown Skin Secrets - the range I thought was pretty meh has actually been pretty good for my skin. Especially the cleanser. Yes I'm surprised. LOVING the Sisley Phyto lip - the colour I got is just AMAZING! Berry, what else. Also loving the Australis green & blue gelifeye eyeliners. Gorgeous colours!!

    1. Oh Bobbi Brown skincare isn't something I hear much about, I know Ingrid from Miss Glamorazzi loves the eye cream and I've heard lots of great things about that product. I've been loving the Phyto-Lip too, I was sent two but 4 Pinky is my most worn so far :)

  9. Wonderful picks! I too have been trapped between work and my school lessons so it's difficult to find days to get inspired to do much creative or more interesting make up looks! I've yet to try any micellar waters but really would love to! Otherwise I'm dying to get that shade club, I'd love a duochrome brown right now!

    1. I've been so busy and have been locking myself into my beauty room to wind down, it has been so fun to explore my makeup stash! I know what you mean about being too busy though, sometimes fitting in sleep is hard enough. You should keep an eye out for a post I have upcoming on MAC Club Dupes ;)

  10. Interesting to hear that about Radiant Magenta - I haven't had the opportunity to swatch it yet and it looks deceptively bright in the pan.

    1. It definitely looks to be the brightest but it is so pink and subdued on the cheek, I love how wearable it is on my fair skin :)
