Current Cleansing Routine

Let me share a little beauty blogger confession before I dive into this post - I have become so, so slack when it comes to skincare! Overall it's just the general lack of TLC that I've been missing in my routine, as I've still been double cleansing at night and enjoying it! I need to re-evaluate the treatments/lotions I'm using more than anything - I need to commit to a serum and moisturiser and stop chopping and changing between bottles! Since I'm generally content with my cleansing routine as it stands, I thought it was worth sharing, if only as a record for my own benefit.
I've just finished up a woeful eye make-up remover so am using the new Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water for both face and eyes, and am actually quite happy with how it is performing. I was using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which I love, but had seen so many glowing reviews of this that I just had to pick it up when I saw it on sale at Priceline. I pour some on a cotton round and sweep it all over my face to take off the main layer of makeup. I then smear some of the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm all over my face before jumping into the shower. I work the balm all over my face as the water heats up (I like my showers super hot!) and then take my face cloth to remove it. I finish off my double cleanse with the Garnier Goodbye Dry Gentle Cleansing Milk - I find milk cleansers too mild to use on their own, but enjoy them after a balm or oil cleanse. The scent of this one is amazing, but I am about to finish it up so will be moving onto a new cleanser soon - is it sad that this really excites me?!
What cleansing products are in your routine right now?
Any new cleansers I should chuck into my line-up?

*All of these cleansers were purchased by me. Honesty, always!

  1. I really wanna try the Clinique Take the Day off Balm.
In the mornings, which is when I usually shower, I use The Body Shop Vit E cleanser. At night I use the a Garnier 2 in 1 makeup remover to take my eye makeup off. When I am wearing a full face of mkeup I like to use the Dr Lewinns cleansing oil. I also use the Garnier micellar water. Do you prefer the Simple one over Garnier ?

    1. Ah see I always shower PM, mornings I am too groggy to function properly lol, a slow starter I am. I think the Simple one is really nice so far but the Garnier is much better value for money - even more so if you purchase it during a good sale

    1. Yeah I find I need a good combination of cleansers to properly clean my skin, I like the pair a cream cleanser and micellar for mornings for sure

  3. I know what you mean about chopping and changing. I want to stop doing that, but then I see something amazing and am continually trialing something new.

I adore the Antipodes Juliet Brightening Gel Cleanser. It's one of the only cleansers that I've repurchased.

    1. Yeah I get suckered in by cool sounding skincare all the time but am getting better at sticking to things now, and using them up! I found the Antipodes Juliet too drying for my skin type, which was a shame because it did seem quite nice and I love the Antipodes aesthetic

  4. I haven't used a cleansing milk for a long time now. Using the Mario Badescu cleanser now as it works really well for my skin. Don't know why I changed what was working for me... Oh yeah, it's because being a beauty blogger means we have to test our face on different products! YIKES! I'm trying to just keep to the same products for now. Stabilise things you know ;)

    1. I found the Mario Badescu cleanser a bit too harsh for my skin in a way - stripping it (the green cleanser, I believe targeted for acne prone skin types?)

  5. Wow, you really take care of your skin! :) I'm much lazier - eye make up remover (if necessary), and then cleanse in the shower with Purity by Philosophy. (PS that's a cleanser I recommend if you're looking to try a new cleanser!)

    1. I've tried Purity but I think it's quite mild compared to the cleansers I generally like - will have to give it another go though! I really should take better care of my skin when it comes to serums and things like that, I already have post acne scarring that I need to deal with and then some wrinkle prevention, lol

  6. Cleansing oils are my thing right now although I still love the ease of cleansing waters when I'm feeling lazy!

    1. I always use a cleansing water as a first cleanse (or after I come home from a big night, truth be told!) and an oil or balm later - I figure it is worth it since I wear a lot of makeup every day, ha!

  7. Ah, I'm about to do a post like this, too, but I just can't find the motivation, lol! I need a new cleansing oil since my Shu one is about to finish up, but I'm not sure what to try, yet.

    1. I normally find these posts a bit too much effort to remember what I'm using (bad beauty blogger, right?) but because I cut it to just cleansing and not PM routine it was nice and easy, snap and go ;) Have you tried the Dermalogica Precleanse? That is my fave oil!
