a basket full o' makeup

This post here had me thinking about my beauty using habits. I tend to wake up in the morning bleary eyed and reach for whatever pretty my heart desires at that very moment. I decided to switch it up, and at the start of the week (which is a Wednesday for me!) fill up my tub on the counter with products I want to make a dent in. Here is what made it in this past week!
I threw in a few half-used items to see if I could finish some off, and some new items I'm reviewing to make sure I give them time to impress me.
base; Bourjois Healthymix, L'Oreal Base Magique sample
blush; NYX Peach (review here)
bronzer; Nars Laguna
Undereye; Smashbox Undereye Brightener*
Mascara; Lancome Doll Eyes (review here) & Clinique High Impact
Eyes; Sportsgirl Prom Night (pan hit, woohoo!), MAC Painterly Paint Pot, Ardell Clear Brow Gel, Mirenesse Tightliner*, BYS Brow pencil* & Rimmel pencil liner
Lips; Estee Lauder High Gloss in #11 Blush
I have almost used up both mascara samples and want to make good use of them before they have to be tossed, and the Smashbox concealer is just there to be used up as I'm not fond of it. NYX Peach and Laguna have been kicking around in my collection for quite a while and I'm looking to hit pan on them, if it's the last thing I do.
I don't even need to explain the Ardell brow gel, it's pretty ratty looking. I know that it is fine and that it is just my brow powder mixed into it, but it still grosses me out. The BYS pencil is something I'm trialling for review at the moment, and the Sportsgirl shadow is much loved but needs to be in cosmetic heaven now. Painterly is something I use every single day so it has a permanent position in the basket full of awesomeness.
My Bourjois Healthy Mix has been so good to me, and has lasted so long only because I had two on the go at once. I had one in my bag most of the time for weekends away or for when I was at Chris' place, but this one is finally about to bite the dust!
Laguna and Peach, respectively.
The L'Oreal Base Magique was a sample Chris got me, haven't used it enough to know whether or not I like it. The gloss was nabbed from Chris' Mum when she split up her travel set. Estee Lauder glosses are the bomb, and this one is my favourite shade. Boring in the tube, stunning on the lips!
My neutral Inglot palette...(review here)
...and my brights palette (review here)
I chose these two palettes because I adore them, and also because I don't reach for them as much as I should. I wear brights quite a bit, but thought that throwing them in would push me to create some nice combinations that I haven't tried out before. I was right! I have a stack of FOTD's to share with you in upcoming posts, all using these palettes with other shadows thrown in.

I think this is the sort of task I am able to stick to, I don't have enough patience to complete a set pan project. I think the fact that I have enough wiggle room to use other items from my collection makes this an enjoyable effort, and still gets my mind working in order to use these items creatively. I'm not trying to use all of them up (palettes, for example) but wanting to remember the things I love about my makeup collection.

Have you ever tried a project pan? How many makeup items have you hit pan on?
Would love to hear some motivation and your pan efforts!

In & Out

In the midst of craziness with all of my assignments due and unwritten and my excitement for ABBW and IMATS growing, I thought I'd share the things I'm loving and loathing lately.

* Wellbeing Wednesday is a whopper of an idea that I'm grabbing with both hands. I saw this over at Jess' blog and need all the motivation  I can get in regards to bettering my life. A group challenge is offered (this week is to workout 3 times!) and you can set a personal challenge to share with everyone, too. For info head to Jess' post . I'm yet to decide on my personal challenge but I'll be sure to let you know when I do!

*Procrastination in the form of the box-I've really been enjoying Underbelly Razor that is being aired in Australia right now, and as always I'm riveted by Jersey Shore as they roll all over Italy. Also watched quite a few films over the weekend, and have fallen in love with Steve Carrel all over again!

*Spent the weekend at my best friend Candice's farm and ahhh the serenity! She made us (Chris and I) the best food while we were there too, wowza.

*Rocked the same look all last week (and today!) which consists of:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation
Sportsgirl champagne and neutral brown shade with MAC Mink&Sable in the crease
NYX Peach Blush
Model's Prefer Glitz & Glamour highlighter
Jack Black balm in Grapefruit & Ginger
Will hopefully nail some nice shots of this during the week to share.

Out
*Having so many assignments due when all I want to do is read all of your lovely blogs! The readings alone are overtaking my life, and my lovely farm weekend means I go nil work done so am struggling today.

*Instant coffee. I just can't deal with it anymore, I've been spoiled by good cafe coffees and my sights are now set on the orange coffee machine of my dreams (it's on the xmas list!) Nescafe just isn't cutting it anymore

*Bronzer. I have tried so many types and techniques, but it just looks bleh on me and I can't stand it. I want to look healthy more than tanned, but just can't seem to nail it. If anyone has tips, share!

*A Current Affair and Today Tonight because they are pure shite.

What is in or out for you this week? Hope your Monday is rocking, I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of you in Sydney this weekend!

Wearing This Week

My skin is acting out like mad this month, but my make up has my smile beaming despite that. I'm really happy with some of the combinations I've found, so much so that I've been wearing them day after day. Here is what I've been reaching for and loving this week!
All of this weeks faves, spilling out of the cute new make up bag I bought. The bag comes in a set of 3 at Priceline for $5 with two other sizes included, a small with the same print and a medium plain black with orange trim. Also comes in yellow and pink-caaayooot!
*
I was going to refrain from this post as I thought it too similar to a monthly 'favourites' but then I was like hey! I blog to make myself happy, and that up there certainly does. Plus, I haven't been using the whole lot all month so it didn't seem fair to pop them in my monthly favourites. Here are my thoughts on the prodz!
*
Bourjois Healthy Mix #52-I currently have two bottles on the go, one is at Chris'. I think my next will be a shade down, just to see the difference. This goes on like moisturiser, and has a lovely feel and smell.
 *
Nars Laguna Bronzer- I've been using the tiniest amount of this to try and detract from the deathly pallour I've got-seems to work well!
*
Clinique Quad- was a GWP that I adore! Great shades, but the one I've been rocking this week is the bottom left hand corner, which is a gorgeous shimmery pale toned shadow (similar to MAC Retrospeck)
*
Essence Quad in Chic-Ly-Again, bottom left hand corner shade is a killer taupe that I've been using to define my crease. Found this and the Clinique shade all over to be a great everyday eye look!
*
Face of Australia Liquid Liner- my heart belongs to this, I'd never been able to use liquid liner before this came along. Big review and rave coming up.
*
Benefit Bad Gal mascara- Chunky lashes are go!
*
MAC Baby Sparks Dazzleglass- I realise that this is in pretty much every favourites I've done lately, and you're guaranteed to see it in my July Faves too. It is the bomb diggity, we're officially an item.
*
So that is what has been getting the most use with me this week, now do share-
What have you been wearing this week?

Lilac Lovin' FOTD

I've never been a purple girl, but lately it's all I've been wanting to wear. This FOTD was originally meant to be all about the gloss, but the pictures didn't do Funtabulous justice (a separate review of this bad boy is the plan) Here's what I used:

Bourjois HealthyMix Foundation #52

Revlon ColorStay Under Eye Concealer

Elianto Brow Pencil in Light Brown

Face of Australia Fairy Floss lipstick

MAC Funtabulous

Face of Australia Concealer

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara

Nars Laguna bronzer

Benefit Carmella perfume

Napoleon Perdis brushes

Elianto shadow in Autumn Thistle(top left hand side)

Estee Lauder shadow (purple,in gold palette)There was brown shadow on the crease brush from the day before, so when I used the Estee Lauder shade in the crease they mixed. I actually really like the effect, so left it. I also realise that I look a bit like a strange pixie in the first picture, but it's better than the other pictures from that day, so up it goes. Hope you enjoyed my FOTD, if you have any new ideas for them I'd love to see them=) Or link in the comment section if you've done a FOTD lately yourself, I'd love to see.
