As I mentioned in my
BestDrugstore Beauty Buys last week, the famous Priceline
40% off sale was on and I went along with my Mum and sister after a
nice lunch at Groove Train to see what goodies I could find. I had a few
things in mind to pick up, but I was so overwhelmed in there that I didn’t end
up buying a single thing! I’d wanted to pick up some more back-ups of my essence
Long-Lasting Liner ‘Hot Chocolate’ but they had sold out, and it was so
busy in store that I couldn’t decide on which shade of the new Max
Factor Crème Puff Blushes to buy, so decided to wait until they are
next on sale. I also contemplated the Models Prefer Soft Touch Powder (Hourglass
dupe I heard?) and the new Revlon HD lipsticks, but they have
so many colours to choose from and I had no idea which one I wanted! I think
I’ve definitely changed my shopping style in the last year or so, I don’t want
to clog up my makeup storage with mediocre products so I put a lot more thought
into things I buy now – I kind of regret not grabbing anything from this sale,
though!
Mumma Bovary and my
sister aren’t really into makeup but I herded them through the throngs of
people to the essence stand for a cheap thrill. They each bought a bottle of essence
‘Kiss Me Freddy’ and the essence eyeliner ‘Hot Scorch’ (recommended by moi!)
Then Mumma Bovary popped a few more eyeliners into her basket (‘I
Have a Green’ which is my fave green liner, and ‘Berry Merry’) along with
a second polish in the dark ‘Headphones On’ shade. I love how
affordable essence products are for such high quality – a risk free cheap
thrill for sure!
What did you haul in
this Priceline sale? If you didn’t indulge, what is the last drugstore product
you bought for yourself? Is it a bit sad that my family bought from the sale
and I didn’t?

OMG!!! I forgot about this for I was kinda busy lately. I have been wanting to get some items that I am waiting to be on sale.
ReplyDeleteI was right near a Priceline on both days but just couldn't bring myself to shop!
DeleteOh well, better luck next time I suppose! These sales seem to roll around more often, or maybe my sense of time is being truncated. At least you managed to save some money :) And I agree with Essence - they might not be comparable in quality to high end brands, but they're solid products at such an affordable price point!
ReplyDeleteWill have to gear up for the next one - they seem to be regular-ish, I'm planning on hitting up the next hair sale for L'Oreal Elnet hairspray ;)
DeleteI'm in exactly the same boat when it comes to reducing my purchases. I don't want to have cheap lipsticks or blushes just hanging around in my collection taking up room, distracting me from products I like, and generally stressing me out! I put a lot of thought and research into each product which means I'm spending a lot less and appreciating what I purchase a lot more!

I think it's better that way in the long run, an edited stash of great and exciting product!
DeleteI get flustered everytime there's a 40% Priceline sale too! I think it's good you didn't just go nuts in there though! Huge pat on the back!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same, I don't want to just buy things for the sake of the discount unless it's something I already had to intention to try and check out!

It's so overwhelming and too awesome, lmao! I need to create a list to prepare for next time ;) ha!
DeleteWow, glad to know I wasn't the only beauty junkie who didn't buy a thing at the Priceline 40% off sale! I blame that on the fact that I wasn't able to even step foot into any of the Priceline stores, no thanks to being on my teaching placement! And I was too much of a tight arse to pay for postage online. :p
ReplyDeleteNope you weren't the only one! I hate paying for postage, always try to make my order big enough to qualify for free, cheeky!
DeleteI almost missed out of the sale. I went about 15 minutes before my Priceline closed and picked up a few items. Don't worry these sales are quite regular!
