Autumn Orange Kick

As soon as I saw Liz from Beauty Reductionista post about her current orange obsession "Winter Orange Kick" I was inspired to pull all the orange from my makeup drawers and go to town. I find that my pale skin generally allows me to play around with oranges quite easily (peach can be slightly more challenging) so this is just a selection of the orange products that I have.
my orange autumn kick!

I'm not too fussed on tone when it comes to orange - I love a great bright orange for nails and lips, but for eyes I'm happy with a lighter orange or a burnt sienna shade - like Jardin or Cannes in the Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Palette. Cheeks are an area of the face I love to deck out in orange tones - at the moment these two essence blushes are what I'm reaching for! Wool-D You Cuddle Me? from the Home Sweet Home collection is a great mix of pale orange with a hot pink pattern, and the ombre blush trend is one I'm happy to be a part of with I <3 Summer Break from the Beach Cruisers collection- the ability to mix a custom colour is so much fun!
I do love a good bright orange - my favourite is hands down the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which I wore in this makeup look back in November (looking at that post makes me want to wear Sally Hansen Kook-A-Mango so bad!) I love the formula of the Maybelline Colour Elixirs and prefer light colours like Breathtaking Apricot over the darker reds and purples - I generally like a matte finish if I'm wearing deeper shades. I have to admit that the Revlon Lip Butters are very unloved in my stash, and despite loving the colour of Peach Parfait the gritty feel of it does tend to drive me crazy when I wear it...
The most loved product from my current autumn orange kick? My beloved Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in Coral Sheen, which is a gorgeous bright burst of cream blush for the cheek that is hard to beat now that the weather has turned a bit miserable. I think that nothing beats a nice bright blush on a grey day, it tends to perk up my whole complexion and I'm looking forward to working in pops of colour with my dark day-to-day autumn/winter wardrobe.

{Jardin, I <3 Summer Break, Wool'd You Cuddle Me?, Breathtaking Apricot
Peach Parfait, Rendezvous, Coral Sheen}
Are you on any sort of colour kick at the moment? I have to admit that I'm admiring a whole lot of purple at the moment which has never happened before, but since it's generally just for my eyes I have to say that orange is still pipping it at the colour post. Would love to know of your favourite orange beauty products!?

  1. I've been wearing more burgundy shades lately, I think because I associate cold weather with those sort of rich red and plummy tones.

    1. I tend to wear orange year round really, but am craving a hit of red for my lips soon - just need to find the right tone as they sometimes don't suit me :(

  2. Oranges and Peaches are my faaaaves! Love wearing them all year round. The Maybelline blush stick does look gorgeous, as does Breathtaking Apricot. Wish they brought that shade over here!

    1. They really do suit you, don't they?! Breathtaking Apricot is amazing, so silly of Maybelline to leave that one out of the Australian release

    1. Thanks Lily! They are a fun colour to play around with, that is for sure

  4. I love the shade of Peach Parfait too, but agree completely that the grittiness from the micro glitter is quite annoying. But I'm still determined to use it up at some point later this year!

That Essence blush with a sweater pattern is to die for, btw :)

    1. I think I'm going to give a few of my lip butters away to my sister, she likes a good glossy finish and she might enjoy the texture of Peach Parfait. I did think about trying to use it up, but I'd rather focus on finishing up some more loved shades I think

  5. I've moved onto blues and aqua greens, which is a little earlier than in previous years (I get a hankering for them in late summer, August or so). Oranges are so awesome though and I loved seeing your stash! I caved to the Essence Beach Cruisers blush but it's being kept at my sister's as part of a backup stash for the days I stay over. And why don't I have Revlon Rendezvous yet is an utter mystery.

    1. My obsession with green for nails and eyes is still going strong, I think 6 months is one of my longer obsessions for sure - My green nail polish stash is out of hand and I've rounded up some green shadows to play with too. Should actually do a post on that now that I think about it?

  6. These look so good Emma. I want to buy Essence blushes only for how they look. I am yet to try the Maybelline Elixirs

    1. I love my essence blush collection, I find the regular silky touch range less than impressive but have been happy with all of the limited edition blushes and the now permanent ombre blushes, too!

  8. Oh those oranges and peaches look gorgeous! I would love to have that gradient blush from essence and that palette from Too Faced! I only go as far as orange on my cheeks and never really on the lips or eyes. I find it tends to make my teeth and skin more yellow! I'm currently trying to get into cooler neutrals! I've been wearing bronzey warm browns for so long, it's time for some cooler tones! Do stop by my blog, I'm currently having a giveaway! :)

    1. I was overly obsessed with those Too Faced palettes, the tins are so wonderful and collectable! I think a sunset eye look on you would be amazing actually!

  9. How funny that peach looks better on my pale skin than orange. Must be the hair that makes us opposites :)

    1. I think many fair skinned ladies find that peach is easier to work with - I think I just prefer the pop that orange gives me, I've always found paler colours a bit tricky I think!

  10. Peaches and oranges are my favorite Spring colors for they are light and seem so natural on skin. Eyeing on that Essence one.
