Autumn Orange Kick

As soon as I saw Liz from Beauty Reductionista post about her current orange obsession "Winter Orange Kick" I was inspired to pull all the orange from my makeup drawers and go to town. I find that my pale skin generally allows me to play around with oranges quite easily (peach can be slightly more challenging) so this is just a selection of the orange products that I have.
my orange autumn kick!

I'm not too fussed on tone when it comes to orange - I love a great bright orange for nails and lips, but for eyes I'm happy with a lighter orange or a burnt sienna shade - like Jardin or Cannes in the Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Palette. Cheeks are an area of the face I love to deck out in orange tones - at the moment these two essence blushes are what I'm reaching for! Wool-D You Cuddle Me? from the Home Sweet Home collection is a great mix of pale orange with a hot pink pattern, and the ombre blush trend is one I'm happy to be a part of with I <3 Summer Break from the Beach Cruisers collection- the ability to mix a custom colour is so much fun!
I do love a good bright orange - my favourite is hands down the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which I wore in this makeup look back in November (looking at that post makes me want to wear Sally Hansen Kook-A-Mango so bad!) I love the formula of the Maybelline Colour Elixirs and prefer light colours like Breathtaking Apricot over the darker reds and purples - I generally like a matte finish if I'm wearing deeper shades. I have to admit that the Revlon Lip Butters are very unloved in my stash, and despite loving the colour of Peach Parfait the gritty feel of it does tend to drive me crazy when I wear it...
The most loved product from my current autumn orange kick? My beloved Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in Coral Sheen, which is a gorgeous bright burst of cream blush for the cheek that is hard to beat now that the weather has turned a bit miserable. I think that nothing beats a nice bright blush on a grey day, it tends to perk up my whole complexion and I'm looking forward to working in pops of colour with my dark day-to-day autumn/winter wardrobe.

{Jardin, I <3 Summer Break, Wool'd You Cuddle Me?, Breathtaking Apricot
Peach Parfait, Rendezvous, Coral Sheen}
Are you on any sort of colour kick at the moment? I have to admit that I'm admiring a whole lot of purple at the moment which has never happened before, but since it's generally just for my eyes I have to say that orange is still pipping it at the colour post. Would love to know of your favourite orange beauty products!?

Serious Sephora Skincare

Looking at all of these Sephora VIB sale posts (see Liz's post, am swooning) is making me lemm things I'd never even heard of before - I still have to pinch myself at the realisation that by this time next week I will have visited a Sephora store for the first time ever! I'm not a VIB (obviously) but I have signed up for the Sephora emails etc and I can't wait to start accumulating some points on our holiday!

I've been perusing the skincare section of the Sephora site for a while now and have a wish list that is quite extensive - I was a good girl and used up the cleansers I already had to allow myself to go crazy in America in this regard, so I'm going to leap at the chance to choose myself some lovely new skincare soon. Would love to hear recommendations from those in the know, too!

Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning (for face)
I'm hesitant about the whole fake tanning thing, but a wee bit of colour on my pasty mug wouldn't go astray and I've heard this one is the bees knees!

Clinique Take The Day Off $28.50 USD/3.8oz
This is a sure thing, I've wanted to try it for so long but it's something like $55AUD so there was no chance of that happening. I need a good cleansing balm in my life right now!

Peter Thomas Roth Skinstant Mask Magic $20 USD/3X 0.5oz
This is a bit of an excitement extra for me, I've seen some good reviews of the PTR masks and I'd like to be able to put my two cents in, plus 3 mini sizes for $20 isn't too crazy for a little thrill.

Ole Henrikson Pure Truth Melting Cleanser $34 USD/4oz
Put the word melting near cleanser and I am all yours, Ole!

Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil $28 USD/5oz
Seemingly a YouTube girl favourite, this one is more natural than others I've been checking out and I'm looking forward to trying this brand for the first time.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
Love the Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads (may get those too...) but these come with rave reviews from people I trust so I'm on board with trying them out.

Also quite tempted by some Glamglow goodies (never tried the brand before!) but I guess we'll see how overwhelmed I get once I hit U.S shores (we fly out tomorrow!)
Any other skincare bits I should be looking into?

A Reductionista Gift

There is nothing better than arriving home after a stressful day to find a sweet parcel on your doorstep!
I recently won the 'End of Summer' competition over at Liz's blog, and I was ecstatic as I'd been lusting over the two Maybelline Color Tattoo shades since I first saw them on her blog! I snuggled up on the couch with Charlie to unwrap the goodies, and lo and behold the bag was bursting with lots of extra beauty treats for me! It's like Liz dived into my mind and said 'this is exactly what Emma would love!'
Even Mister Bovary was amazed by how these two shades look in the pot and in swatches - truly captivating and I can't wait to dip into them properly and see what sort of looks I can create. Sunwashed Sky is more cool toned and has amazing pigmentation, and Shimmering Sea flashes gold as you move and takes my breath away. I can't believe Maybelline didn't release this everywhere - crazy I tell ya!
A Canadian friend brought me over some Sonia Kashuk bits about a year ago but I hadn't tried any of their lipsticks, and this Sheer Fuchsia shade is totally up my alley and something I can get a lot of wear from. The Moonstone cream eyeshadow swatch literally stained my arm and was so hard to budge (it took me micellar water, oil based remover and a good go at my arm with a loofah before it was completely gone!) so I can only imagine how it will last on my lids! Last but not least is the St. Tropez face lotion (I need a bit of glow before I hit Hawaii!) and the gorgeous Annabelle Blush 48 - a wearable shade which is something I actually need in my overflowing collection of neutrals and megawatt brights!

Thank you so much to Liz for a great competition and some lovely extras - you really brought a smile to this beauty lovers face :)

I'm signing off now to go and have lunch and get my nails done, because tomorrow I am getting married!
