Lick the Icing

As soon as I saw the new limited edition lipstick shade called ‘Lick the Icing’ from Australis, I knew I had to make it mine. A pale pink/lilac shade unlike anything else I own, this sort of colour is one you either love or hate. Though some shades don’t technically flatter some people, lipsticks in shades that make me smile can do no wrong. I think I will wear this throughout summer, just for something different, even if Chris does give me strange looks every time. This photo makes my lips appear pretty large (is it the lipsticks doing...?) but it does accurately show how the colour looks on me. Check out this link to see it on a favourite blogger of mine, Angela!

Camp pastel lips-yay, or big ol' nay?

*Bought this myself. Honesty, always.

  1. There's no way I'll ever get on the pastel lips. They just look silly on me, can't pull it off! Booo :( x

  2. I wish I could pull this off :( I struggle with very blue toned pinks but it looks lovely on you!

    1. @Jasmine I think you could totally rock a pastel pink lip shade Jasmine, have you ever tried one? Maybe a more neutral toned one would suit you better than a blue based, it is just a matter of playing with different undertones with pastels.

  3. I love Lick The Icing! It may not be the most flattering colour on anyone, but it is so much fun, and that's what make-up is about! I bought it after seeing it on Angela's blog too! x

    1. Thanks Angie, I agree it isn't like you'd wear it to your wedding (can you imagine!?) but like you said, makeup is meant to be FUN! Angela makes me buy pretty much everything she mentions, bad for my savings haha.

    1. @Michelle I think this colour would work on you, to be honest. I thought it would be woeful on me but I ended up really liking it. Australis are so creative and great value, I'm a big fan of theirs. x

  5. That lipstick almost dupes Limecrime's Lavendairy nail polish! I like pastelly lips but I find I need warmer pinks on my own lips :)

  10. I don't really dig these 1960's pastel shades although if you were to put your hair up in a beehive and wear a shift dress it could look quite cute and v. Madmen!
