2016 Empties - First Quarter

Why did I leave the first instalment in this years empties so late? Purely because I am forgetful, but I want it up for my own personal record so this will be short and sweet with the next instalment up this Friday!

I'd purchase all of these shower products again - The Body Shop makes amazing shower gels, Original Source is my affordable go-to, Palmolive scents are divine and Lush is lush - need I say more?
PERFUME + HAIR

I was disappointed with my Hollister Silver Strand Beach Body Spray that I ended up using as a room spray - I adore the scent and ambience of their stores but think their true scents are the way to go as this smelt of alcohol to me. I'll miss the addition of a classy rose scent in my collection now that I've finished up Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, and it will be a while before I purchase the lovely smelling Schwarzkopf Ultimate Repair Anti-Damage Mask again as I'm trialling a stack of other hair products now.
SKINCARE

This is the section that makes me feel most accomplished. For the first quarter I used up Maybelline Make-Up Remover* (wasn't effective) My Beauty Diary Red Vine sheet mask (enjoyed this) Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (automatic repurchase) and am tossing the Yes to Cucumber Wipes* as they dried up before I could finish them. I was sad to finish off my Dermalogica Precleanse as it's my favourite cleansing oil, and my love affair with La Roche-Posay Efflaclar Duo+* is well documented on this blog. I also used up an adorably teensy Bioderma Crealine H2O and Caudalie Cleansing Water, which was okay but I still prefer the classic Bioderma or Garnier cleansing waters.

What products do you find most satisfying to use up? It's always frustrating if the product is limited edition or hard to get your hands on, but even finishing my favourite skincare can be annoying because it just means I have to fork out more cash to have it back in my routine!

Travalo- Perfume on the Run

I first heard of Travalo on Primped, and was fascinated by the idea of a perfume atomiser that wouldn't leak, and was safe to take on planes. I had owned atomisers before but had problems with them leaking, and couldn't be bothered taking the effort to fill them up all the time. My problems were solved when I discovered Travalo, and it hasn't left my handbag since.

The Travalo comes in a range of colours including gold, black and pink and retail for $24.95AUD.  They're very easy to use, even for a lazy girl like myself. I often shake my head when I see the girls at work toting 100ml bottles of designer perfume in their handbags- I'd be scared I would scratch the bottle, or worse, smash it to smithereens! If you're like that too, this little baby might be for you.

step one is to choose a perfume, and take off the cap of it as well as the cap from the Travalo

pull off the inner cap of the perfume so that the nozzle is exposed

see the rubberised base of the Travalo? Line it up with the perfume nozzle like so

pump the perfume up and down and it will transfer into the Travalo.

I always carry this in my handbag alongside a fragrance sample as I like to have choice during the day. This is generally either filled with Bulgari's Rose Essentielle (as pictured), Guerlain's Champs Elysees or Lancome's Tresor In Love. I am contemplating buying a golden version to keep with it, so that I can use up some of the other full size fragrances I have piled up in my bedroom. I won't get the black version, though it's super sleek it'll get lost in a second in my mid city Foley and Corinna, which is huuuge and has all black lining.

I adore my Travalo, and think it's a much better option than the other atomisers out there. well worth the cash, I think. It's only 8cm and carries around 50-60 sprays of your best juice- winner.

May Favourites

May was filled with lots of studying, and the early mornings meant I leant on my favourite products to work their magic rather than changing it up for uni. I tended to go for wine shades or neutrals for the eyes and lips. Here is what I reached for most fin the cold month of May:

Face of Australia Translucent Powder 

This stuff is seriously amazing, love it so much.

Essence Return to Paradise powder in Flamingo Pink 

a review of this is coming up, for now I will just swoon and tell you it pretty much owns my heart. Cute and cheap as chips!

NYX powder blush in Peach 

A pretty pink shade (not peach...) this is buildable and natural, my never fail shade.

Savvy lip crayon in Cafe 

This is wine-shaded goodness, have bought so many back-ups. A look is coming up in which I wear this, I'm also wearing it on the blog is the 'About Me' section <<

 Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey 

I'm sure you've all read reviews, these new releases are gorgeous and I won this colour from Clinique on Twitter. Not a shade I would've chosen myself, and wouldn't you know it's perfect for me!

A simple, everyday fragrance that lets me indulge in my love of anything rose-scented.

MAC Eyeshadow in French Cuff

I've been loving wine shade on lips and eyes, and this fits the bill completely.

I am planning on buying this in pan form soon, but for now I am using it out of the Holiday palette I purchased from Stef's blog sale. It's my two second lift, I literally just sweep it over my eyes and voila! I'm complete.
