a face, featuring Danmari and drugstore wonders

Days without make up just aren't doing it for me lately. I feel like I need that little bit of creativity in the morning to jump start my day. This is the face I painted on the other day to celebrate one of my nephew's birthdays in the park with his mothers group- was such a lovely day, filled with chatter, lollies and running around with little ones.
This is my fallback look, I wear quite a lot of coral and orange so it goes with that really well.
I like quite a heavy blush, and this was no exception.
A simple wash of a champagne neutral over the lid and my Lancome Doll Eyes mascara.

Most of these items are my favourites of the moment, and so you might see them in my January favourites as well. It's mostly drugstore/priceline stuff, with a touch of high end in there.
Danmari palette: Nars Orgasm
Danmari palette: Nars Hungry Heart highlighter
 Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
 Loujene brow powder (darkest one)
Ardell clear brow gel
Essence gel liner in Midnight in Paris
Revlon Super Lustrous gloss in Coral Reef
Maybelline Color Sensational in Coral Pop
L'Oreal Color Infallible in Sahara Treasure

Hidden away are the Dove tinted moisturiser (beige) and Lancome Doll Eyes mascara.

My most common FOTD's tend to feature coral lips...
How often do you wear a coral/orange lip?
What are some of your favourite coral products?
(All items featured in this post were purchased by me, except for Sahara Treasure + Nars Danmari palette (Christmas gifts from Chris) and Dream Matte Powder (gift from best friend Candice). Honesty, always.)

Tutti Frutti FOTD!

Coral is my fallback color for every season, but I wear it most when the temperature rises and I get lazy. Two Revlon Lip Butters I ordered came in the mail the other morning, one being the gorgeous shade 'Tutti Frutti'! Mum and I were heading out to the shops to get my nephews Christmas gift and I took too long sipping my coffee and reading Shop Til You Drop, so I had only a few minutes to throw a face on to head out. The look I came up with was a warm coral cheek, bright coral lips and neutral eyes.
**
I threw on my Dove Tinted Moisturiser and set it with some Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, before dusting on some NYX Peach blush. I used my finger to apply some Maybelline eyeshadow in Tranquil Sand to my lids and topped it off with my Clinique High Impact Mascara (which is almost all gone, cry!) The infamous lip butter in Tutti Frutti applied like a dream and I stood back to survey the results. I wasn't happy, so took out my Hello Kitty blush in Venise and put some on over the top of my blush, and added some Nars Laguna bronzer, too. I was much happier with the look then, and headed out with Mum to get some Christmas goodies.

Mum has gone crazy with the Christmas decorations, I love it! In these pictures I'm wearing the colourfully printed maxi dress that she bought me to wear on Christmas day 2010.
The products I chose:
Dove Tinted Moisturiser in Beige
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
Hello Kitty blush in Venise
NYX blush in Peach
Loujene Eyebrow powders
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Sportsgirl All Nighter Fighter undereye illuminator
Clinique High Impact Mascara
Maybelline Shadow in Tranquil Sands (all over)
Urban Decay shadows in Virgin (highlight) and Toasted (crease)
Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

and my scent of the day was the MOR perfume oil in Lychee- which is my summer holiday scent, wahoo!

Peach Crystal- Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Balm (Review+Swatch)

This little stunner jumped out at me during a cheeky Priceline trip a few weeks ago, and despite not needing it in the slightest, it somehow wangled its way into my basket.
The Revlon Summer Romantics collection is new out at my local, despite us Aussies only just heading into Spring. Nevertheless, a gorgeous collection that had me swooning.
If only it could make me look like Ms Alba!
And well priced as you can see
The lip balm pots jumped out at me, and as soon as I smelt the peachy goodness I knew Peach Crystal was the one for me.
Comes in a sturdy pot that has a slide out brush in the lid, great if you aren't a fan of using your fingers to apply lip products. This is safe to keep in your bag as it is super secure.
If you enlarge the image you can see the slight shimmer that runs through the balm. This doesn't translate to the lips, however, but adds a glossy sheen to the swatch.
The tint is quite sheer and only gives the slighest coral hint to the lips, so if you're wanting a good colour payoff this isn't for you. It would be really nice over a coral lip stain, so if you know of any please let me know.

The scent of this product is quite strong, so if you have an aversion to peach you should sniff before you buy. I personally love it, and it was the deciding factor in my purchase.
Pros:
Scent is killer
Nice glossy sheen
Very wearable
Pretty packaging
Non Sticky
SPF 15
Cons:
Packaging quite bulky for carrying in handbag
Jar form can be unhygienic (though this does come with a brush)
Minimal colour payoff
=
A winner, despite its flaws!
My bestie is lusting after the cream shadow palette from the range and I'm sure I'll pick up something else from it soon, so I will get back to you when I do.
Have you tried anything from the Revlon Summer Collection?
Are you a fan of strong scents in lip products?
Do you know of any great coral lip stains?
